Rent-Back / Lease-Back

Definition

An arrangement where the seller remains in the property after closing, paying rent to the buyer. Common when sellers need time to move or find their next home.

Example

Closing occurs on March 1st, but seller needs until March 31st to move. You agree to a 30-day rent-back at $150/day ($4,500 total), with security deposit.
