Definition

A situation where one real estate agent or brokerage represents both the buyer and seller in the same transaction. Requires written consent from both parties and is legal in Massachusetts with proper disclosure.

Example

If you tour a home and want to make an offer through the listing agent who showed you the property, that would be dual agency.
