Boston Metro Congressional Races

U.S. House Elections • 2018-2024 • MA-03 through MA-09

Congressional vs. Presidential: The Gap

In 2024, 11 Boston metro towns voted for Trump in the presidential race—but all 7 congressional districts elected Democrats. This split-ticket voting reveals a key insight: voters distinguish between national and local representation.

MA-09 is the exception: The only competitive district, where Keating (D) beat Sullivan (R) by just 13 points. This South Shore/Cape district includes Hanson (R+11 presidential), Plymouth, and Marshfield—making it Massachusetts' swing district for congressional races.
