Quitclaim Deed

Definition

A deed that transfers whatever interest the grantor has without warranties or guarantees. Often used for transfers between family members or to clear title issues.

Example

An ex-spouse might sign a quitclaim deed to transfer their property interest to the other spouse after divorce.
