List Price

Definition

The asking price at which a property is listed for sale. May differ from the final sale price, especially in competitive markets where properties sell above asking or slow markets where properties sell below asking.

Example

A Winchester home lists at $850,000 (list price). After receiving 6 offers, it sells for $895,000 (sale price), $45,000 above list price due to high competition.
